It’s November. Thanksgiving is next week and the holiday season is officially upon us. Though, I got to be honest. It’s kind of hard to get into the holiday spirit when the high is 74. Too warm! A couple of weeks ago it was 48 and then 92 days later. What?!?! That’s Texas weather for you. Though I will say as a style lover, you can pull of a variety of looks in the span of a single week. I guess I shouldn’t complain too much, right? So, whether it’s cold or hot where you are, I got a little bit of everything in today’s style post where we’re gonna channel a lil Badgal Riri using some pieces I recently received from online retailer Tobi.
Tobi are based in Los Angeles and offer a large inventory of trendy pieces with new styles released regularly. You know your girl is likes to research brands and be a conscious consumer. I asked Tobi about their production process and here’s what Tobi reps told me.
Learn more about the company on their About Us page. I for one feel more comfortable giving my money a transport start-up like Tobi than say Forever 21. I recommend Tobi as a good alternative to F21 for conscious shoppers looking for trendy clothes. Plus, the clothes are of much better quality!
Many of Tobi’s pieces have a street chic vibe to them and who is my street style muse? Well, the queen Rihanna of course. For today’s looks I chose to draw inspiration from the Riri herself. Note, these are inspired looks not recreations. I believe in taking inspirations from others, adding your own personality and making a look all your own. To complete the BadgalRiri vibes, I sported Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Foundation in 300. I love it by the way. Just enough coverage while still feeling like your own skin. (I meant to wear some of Fenty’s infamous highlighter but I was not able to get some in time for this post. Boo! What’s your favorite Fenty highlighter by the way? I swatched a bunch at Sephora and I legit loved them all!)
Now on to the looks!
Look #1: Lace ‘Em Up
It’s still warm enough here in Texas to get away with this first look. Double lace-up with this cropped sweatshirt and denim duo. I think Riri would approve. After all, Rihanna’s Puma x Fenty line includes a pair of lace-up pants. I completed the look with my favorite chunky black boots (my Balenciaga dupes haha) for powerful “the girl don’t play” vibes.
Look #2: Velvet Nights
Velvet is my favorite trend of the moment and perfect for incorporating into any holiday party outfit. For this look I drew inspiration from a specific Rihanna outfit in which she wore a leather jacket over an elegant velvet dress. The shift dress from Tobi I wore comes in several colors. I chose Emerald because I find the color super festive plus, green is my favorite color! Rihanna wore heels with her dress but I’m more of a boot gal and knee high boots make the outfit practical for chilly fall/winter nights as my dress is short than Rihanna’s.
Look #2.2: Velvet Christmas
Ok, so this isn’t a totally new look but just another way to wear the velvet that I find to be especially Christmas/Holiday appropriate cuz hello turtleneck! This turtleneck with bell shelves is warm and comfortable perfect for any wintery look.
That’s all for today! Keep an I eye out for more holiday looks. Tell me what you think of today’s fits and what your rocking this holiday season. And don’t forget share with me your Fenty Beauty product recommendations! I’d love to hear them! Beijos!
