Hat: Zaful | Parka: Target | Shirt: Handmade by the homie
It's 2017 and one of my intentions for the new year is to be more consistent with blogging! (You can read more about my New Year's ritual/intention setting in this post here.)
Linked up with the talented Nathan Edwards to shoot a couple of looks on a chill day in Dallas (There aren't toooo many of those here!) Nathan's pic's have a mood vibe too them which I think worked will well with this outfit! We walked around Deep Ellum and possibly trespassed (appropriate for the shirt I was wearing...read on) on some "under-construction" areas to get some pretty sweet shots!
This outfit features a parka I found in the athletic wear section of Target. The C9 Champion line at Target is really killing it! There are pieces that are great for both the gym and for achieving that athletic/streetwear look outside the gym. I bought the parka in a XL cuz I really dig the oversized look in outwear.
I think it goes great with this baseball hat I got from Zaful for under $5! I love it so much much I got it in pink too! I have some pretty wild curly hair so I love being able to throw a hat on my mane and call it a day. I am super into the "dad hat" look and I'm not going to apologize!
Lastly, I wore a shirt one of dearest friends, Adriano "Didi", made me on the final day of my last visit to Brasil a year and a half ago. Didi is a visual artist who makes shirts and murals among many other things. The shirt feature's Brazilian artist Hélio Oiticica famous phrase "Seja marginal, seja herói" or "Be an Outlaw, Be a Hero" in English. I encourage those of you who aren't familiar with the Tropicalia movement during which this phrase/piece originated to read up on it. There is a lot us creative and artist types to draw and learn from, especially in the current socio- political climate. This website is a good place to start.
